An Educational Coach works with students to improve executive function, metacognition (understanding our learning process), social skills and subject-specific goals.
Low grades can be caused by much more than simply not understanding subject material. Time management, deadline execution, test taking skills, organization, and other elements can cause a student’s grades to dip.
The executive functions are a set of processes that all have to do with managing oneself and one's resources in order to achieve a goal. It is an umbrella term for the neurologically-based skills involving mental control and self-regulation.
